The book „Cultural and educational activity of Polish communities in the Netherlands in the years 1989-2019” is an attempt to describe the participation in culture and education of the Polish community.

The chronological framework covers a period of 30 years during which the Polish community in this country has changed significantly – from a well-assimilated, political diaspora of several thousand people to a group of economic migrants numbering a quarter of a million.

The book has a problem-chronological structure, consists of an introduction, 4 chapters, an ending and a bibliography.

At the end there is a colorful insert with information about Polish artists currently working in the Netherlands.

At the beginning, of course, there is a chapter describing the history of contacts between Poland and the Netherlands, dating back to the 10th century.

Then, the beginnings and development of the Polish diaspora activities of the Roman Catholic Church, the development of Polish education in the Netherlands and its various proposals are described – from Polish and parish schools to projects such as the „Polish Children’s Academy”. An important part of the work is a description of the activities of Polish artistic groups and cultural organizations in the Kingdom of the Netherlands, as well as their publishing activities.

Książka „Kulturalno-edukacyjna aktywność środowisk polonijnych w Holandii w latach 1989-2019” jest próbą opisania uczestnictwa w kulturze i edukacji Polonii.

Ramy chronologiczne obejmują okres 30 lat, w którym Polonia w tym kraju bardzo się zmieniła – od dobrze zasymilowanej, kilkutysięcznej diaspory o charakterze politycznym do ćwierćmilionowej grupy migrantów ekonomicznych.

Książka ma układ problemowo-chronologiczny, składa się ze wstępu, 4 rozdziałów, zakończenia oraz bibliografii.

Na końcu znajduje się kolorowa wkładka z informacjami na temat artystów polonijnych aktualnie działających w Holandii.

Na początku oczywiście znajdziemy rozdział, opisujący dzieje kontaktów Polski i Holandii, sięgających aż X wieku.

Następnie opisano początki i rozwój polonijnej działalności Kościoła rzymskokatolickiego, rozwój edukacji polonijnej w Holandii i jej różnorodne propozycje – od szkół polonijnych i parafialnych po projekty tj. „Polska Akademia Dzieci”. Ważną częścią pracy jest opis działalności polonijnych zespołów artystycznych oraz organizacji kulturalnych w Królestwie Niderlandów, a także ich działalność wydawnicza.

Het boek „Culturele en educatieve activiteit van Poolse gemeenschappen in Nederland in de jaren 1989-2019” is een poging om de deelname aan cultuur en onderwijs van de Poolse gemeenschap te beschrijven.

Het chronologische raamwerk bestrijkt een periode van dertig jaar waarin de Poolse gemeenschap in dit land aanzienlijk is veranderd – van een goed geassimileerde, politieke diaspora van enkele duizenden mensen naar een groep economische migranten van een kwart miljoen.

Het boek heeft een probleem-chronologische opbouw, bestaat uit een inleiding, 4 hoofdstukken, een slot en een bibliografie.

Aan het einde vindt u een kleurrijke bijlage met informatie over Poolse kunstenaars die momenteel in Nederland werken.

Aan het begin is er uiteraard een hoofdstuk dat de geschiedenis van de contacten tussen Polen en Nederland beschrijft, daterend uit de 10e eeuw.

Vervolgens worden het begin en de ontwikkeling van de Poolse diaspora-activiteiten van de Rooms-Katholieke Kerk, de ontwikkeling van het Poolse onderwijs in Nederland en de verschillende voorstellen beschreven – van Poolse en parochiescholen tot projecten zoals de „Poolse Kinderacademie”. Een belangrijk onderdeel van het werk is een beschrijving van de activiteiten van Poolse artistieke groepen en culturele organisaties in het Koninkrijk der Nederlanden, evenals hun publicatieactiviteiten.
